Adventures in Texas!!

We had a great long weekend in Texas visiting Meredith and Matt as well as my mom's cousins Helene and Dan! The weather was warm and sunny (a great break from the winter we've been having!). We enjoyed nice meals outside, walked around town, went to the farmers market, visited San Antonio's river walk, and Meredith and I ran the Austin half marathon! A great weekend!

We just couldn't get enough of the great weather! Such a treat - jack enjoyed not having to be bundled up!

Jack and joe joined me for 8 miles of the half! Joe made it all around the course finding times to pop in a push me! I couldn't have beaten my goal time without them!!

So nice to get away as a family! We love exploring new cities! Jack did really well on the plane rides and on the trip!

Jack's First Airplane Ride!!

We are off to Austin, TX for the weekend! We are visiting my high school girlfriend Meredith and Matt! More later about the trip but Jack did so well on his first airplane rides! He slept, ate, and was interested in everything!

We are so excited to be here in the WARM sunny weather! 

This Doesn't Taste Like Milk...

Jack has been waking up during the night the last 2 weeks so I'm thinking he may just be getting more hungry. I have been unsure about the magic age that I would introduce him to food - every bit of research out there is different so I've just decided to go about my own schedule! I think at this point I'm just going to give him food as I feel like it - no specific routine, but just enough to introduce him to a few different textures and flavors! 

Day 1: bananas! He managed to swallow about 6 little bites and boy did we enjoy ourselves!

His facial expressions were cracking me up! Bananas have a much different taste then milk!

Five Months!!

Jack is 5 months old today! This month has been the most fun watching him grow and develop in so many ways! He is so interested in people and toys! He constantly follows me with his eyes and notices when I come and go from a room. He smiles so big when we talk to him! He loves his bouncy chair and can now roll all over the floor! He is still sucking that thumb like a champ! 

We set up his high chair this month and he likes to sit in it while we eat dinner, play with toys and throw them on the floor. 

He is also pretty into his happy baby yoga move! What a yogi! 

This month he got a nice visit from his grandma and grandpa, experienced lots of snow and many negative temp days, took his first trip to Chicago and watched his first Super Bowl! 

He also got a cool new pair of headphones to enjoy his Xavier season tickets at a muted level! 

He is such a snuggle big, still a great sleeper, such a happy and content baby, and continues to bring us so much joy! Every morning when I pick him up out of that crib I tell Joe "wow he's even cuter then he was yesterday!" Happy 5 months little buddy! 

A Wonderful Weekend in Chicago!

This weekend joe, jack and I braved the snow and set out on a road trip to Chicago to visit some friends! We had a wonderful time!

Joe and I love to travel - we are always up for a trip to visit friends! We hope Jack can learn from us the importance of making time to travel as a way to keep connected to close friends and to see the world!
