Beautiful Blooming Yard

We bought and moved into our new home in the winter so this spring it has been so exciting to watch the yard and trees come alive and bloom! It feels like each morning for the last few weeks a new tree, bush or bunch of flowers has bloomed!

These last 2 trees are my favorite that have bloomed (well and the magnolia tree of course!) but we have a few of these little purple/pink flowering trees and one of this beautiful pink trees below!

Several trees and bushes are still just buds so I can’t wait for a few more flowers to show their beauty in the next few weeks! How lucky I feel to have this yard and natural beauty!

Collecting Research

A few weeks ago the kids and I wanted to head downtown to the downtown public library. We figured since we would be downtown we should take the chance to do a project! The researcher in me took over and I suggested we study the height of buildings. The kids made predictions of how many floors they thought the highest building we found would have. They also predicted of the 10 buildings we would look at, how many would have atleast 10 or more floors. We brought a clipboard downtown with our data collection sheet and off we went!

Lots of window counting!

Jack did all the writing and drawing in the poster board! He had good practice writing his numbers and learned how to draw a graph. They also learned how to read a graph and present their results

It was a great learning experience for us all! Made me think outside the box on how many things I can turn into a fun lesson! More research to come from the March clan!

Introducing Coop de Ville

Joe impressed us all with his building skills of the new chicken coop! We knew when we moved to our new house we would need to build a new coop becuase our old one was not cutting it anymore (especially after joe had to get into it in the middle of the night a few weeks ago and kill a possum that was intruding 😳).  So a few weeks ago the building began and the finished product is awesome and now we can have 15-20 chickens instead of just 6!!

It was a family effort to paint the coop before the rain came! The kids were actually a huge help and ended up painting all the beams

A Year of Learning - February Edition

February’s science by Tante Amy was all about the heart! The kids had a great time learning about the parts of the heart, how it works, how if sounds and what makes it speed up and slow down. In fact, now Elisabeth asks everyone to feel her heart when we are out - ha

The ran around and hopped on one first to get their heart rates to speed up

Spring is Coming!

Our days spent outside are increasing! The kids have been spending most days exploring in our yard and playing with neighbors and cousins!

Jack always builds the girls “a fire” and they sit around the fire “chit-chatting” 🤣

Jack and Henry have become inseparable these Days! They are always coordinating their next hang out together and when they get together they run off to play and we don’t see them for hours! Henry even got to have a sleepover with jack and Elisabeth in their room last weekend! They were so adorable

They have been going to a free baseball clinic with the reds the last few Sundays and just love it and love doing that together

We visited Omi at work one day and I just love this capture of her and the kids in her office!

The kids continue to love their time writing and creating art! We headed to the art museum one day last week and they all kept busy

Josefine always fake sleeps like this to try to get us to laugh!

This series of 4 photos was so cute watching Elisabeth cheer on Josefine coming down the slide and then kissing her at the end!

This girl always has a stroller full of funny things! Often food, something from the recycling bin and a kitchen gadget (today was potatos, lacroix and the kitchen mixer!)

We visited oma and Opa today and Ellie was
There along with Uncle Michael and Anna Maria from Norway! Such a fun visit
