Last year at this time Joe and I were counting down the days until our little peanut was going to arrive! We were busy having baby showers, washing and hanging teeny tiny baby clothes, setting up the nursery, wrapping up projects at work, and chatting late into the night trying hard to put answers to the unknown: "boy or girl?" "August or September?" "Who will the baby look like?" "Where will we be when the labor starts?" This all seems like just yesterday and now our very handsome little man is 11 months old! Will I ever stop asking the question, "where does the time go?" Has it really been 11 months since I was telling that little peanut inside my womb how excited I was to meet him and watch him grow!
Jack continues to keep us very entertained! This past month has been so busy with lots of family in town visiting - which means a whole lot of wonderful and memorable family time spent together! This past month Jack has grown so much and keeps getting stronger. He is such a speedy crawler and it seems he is just a few weeks from walking. He can stand on his own (until he realizes he is not holding on then he quickly drops to his knees). He is making new sounds and comes up with the silliest faces. He definitely knows that we think he is funny and he repeats the faces, noises and tricks that make us laugh most.
He is a major mama's boy and needs lots of time after he wakes up in the morning to just snuggle on me - until I either nurse him or Papa distracts him. We love to sit on the back porch in the morning and snuggle! Jack plays well by himself or with others until I walk in the room and then he tends to crawl as fast as he can over to his Mama.
We have been very much enjoying our summer days! Lots of play time with cousins and friends! Days spent at the Lake house, splashing around at Washington park, swinging at the park, lots of walks and runs, picnics, helping mama and papa garden, and just enjoying time together!
All of a sudden he is just such a big boy - where did our baby go!!??
