When Mama's away, the boys will play!! #Boysbash2014

Alright...giving this a shot. This is Joe, hijacking the blog and putting my first post on it--kinda scared...

SOOOO.. Katie went away last weekend, and I was in charge--just me and Jack the whole weekend! We had the ultimate boys weekend, and it was so much fun! Here are some fun little things we did...

We went on a grocery run--Only the necessities...

 

 

Then on Friday night we ended up going to Listermann's for a brew before Muskie Madness! Jack loved the lights, sounds, and excitement of the Cintas Center!

 



Jack and I woke up early on Saturday, then went to the dog park and the St. Ignatius High School Football game (they lost--but Jack had a blast exploring the stadium!)

After a bath and some reading, it was bedtime after a long Saturday! Jack and I had so much fun!

 

 

Then Sunday morning we got up nice and early and went to Dad and Jack's favorite store!

 

 

 

I'll tell you what--this was such a special weekend for me. As much as we missed Mama, I loved having my time with Jack. He was so playful, and smiley the entire weekend. I've never had anything like that, and it was a treat to watch him and just be silly with him. He's growing up so fast and it was so nice to have my father-son time with him.

Thursdays with Omi!

This makes going to work SO much easier knowing Jack is in such good hands! He loves his Thursdays with Omi! Full of adventure, outtings, walks, visiting Oma, snuggles, and book after book after book! Jack is in a huge book phase right now!

How to Party Like A Parent!

Joe and I have always enjoyed meeting friends out for drinks and we sure as heck won't let a one year old slow us down! 

The Whole Foods 5 After 5 is the perfect way to kick off the weekend and still be home for bedtime! We always have a great time meeting our friends there. Jack also likes to meet up with friends - so it's perfect!

Snuggle days!

If I could stop time and snuggle with this little bug forever I would!! 

Jack's favorite game right now is when we say "just resting" he will stop whatever he is doing to lay on the ground and pretend he's sleeping then pops his head back up and we say "he's awake!" 

He could play this game over and over!

I love how quickly he picks up on games and words lately! It's amazing to watch him quickly go from baby to toddler and watch how much more he interacts with us!  You can just watch his brain working and developing when you talk to him and

Watch him react to what you say - so cool! 

Mr. Independent!

Jack is a mix of wanting to be independent and figure things out on his own, but also still loves to know Joe and I are close by just in case! He loves to be adventurous and plays so well on his own. He climbs upstairs, plays up there for awhile and then will call for me at the top of the stairs to come help him get down!  He is getting to be such a good walker and always walks around with an object in each hand - a stick, a ball, a block, a book, utensils, shoes, an apple - I love that about him!

We love to let him eat on his own - he's got it down pretty well especially with solid foods! Recently, we have been teaching him to eat yogurt and applesauce on his own...hilarious results, but he loves it so continue on sweet child!

One way or another he will get that food his in belly! The kid loves to eat!!

Pumpkin Patch 2014!

We had such a great time visiting Burger Farm and enjoying all the Fall festivities! We were so lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa March in town to join us!

Jack just had a blast walking all around, taking it all in and really enjoyed the little petting zoo - this kid loves his animals ! He continued to screech very loud in excitement when he would see the animals an touch them!

We couldn't pull him away!!

He stayed and hung out with those animals for almost an hour and just loved it!! He was even brave enough to feed the pony with papa!

A very cute farm with lots to do and see!!

We also ran into Tricia, Rob and Jack at the farm!

Jack has a very funny personality that we are really enjoying watching develop! He couldn't also have stayed sitting in this pumpkin patch for awhile and got pretty upset when I went it to get him!

Don't make me leave mama!!!

First Words!

Jack has said his first words: Dada, boo, ball and hi. It is so cute to hear him use these words and get so excited when he uses them! He also screams a lot in excitement. The things that make him scream most are: Roxie and any and all animals! He loves animals even when he sees animals in books he screeches! 

My other favorite thing that he does is when you pick him up out of his crib he reaches for the bookshelf and says "bo bo" and grabs a book. He then points to the rocking chair and wants us to sit in the chair with him on our lap and read to him! 

He is also very into shoes! He is constantly bringing our shoes to us (giving us each the right pair - tell me he's not a genius!! Haha) and wanting us to put them on! 

We are just having such a great time watching his little brain figure out this big world!

Oh! And he walks ALL over the place! He started wAlking the week after he turned one and just keeps getting faster and more confident! He is the busiest little toddler exploring this exciting world! 

Finally, Jack has started giving us hugs! Big bear hugs if we sit on the ground with our arms open he will run into your arms, giggle and wrap his arms around your neck - it's the best!!

We've had beautiful weather lately - cool in the mornings allowing us to bundle in our fall gear, but then sunny and warm in the afternoons! It has been a great fall season so far!!
