First Snow!

We had a much too early first snow fall for cincinnati this year - it felt like January - until I reminded myself that thanksgiving was still 2 weeks away! Jack loved it though! As soon as he woke up I put on his shoes, coat, hat, gloves and scarf right over top his pajamas and out we went to play in the snow!!

Well first he snuck out before I could find his hat!

He just loved it!! He kept falling down which he thought was funny and he didn't care one bit how wet his little jams were getting!

He could have played outside all day! He even tried eating the snow which he also thought was pretty cool! 

The rest of the day he kept running to the door yelling "side" "side" just begging to go out and play again! This will be a great winter letting him experience the snow!

Goodbye 301 Glenburn..

My Mom has sold the house! Which is exciting because it means she is making the move to Cincinnati to be closer to us! The sad part is saying goodbye to my childhood home! My parents bought the house right before I was born in 1987 and on December 15, 2014 we will say our final goodbyes! 

This past weekend we began the moving process and pretty much moved my mom's entire house except for the few things she needs for the next few weeks. It was a busy, but silly weekend (in typical wetterau fashion!) 

We were so happy that Amy was able to fly in this week to be part of it all and get some final pics of the 4 of us girls in our favorite spots around the house!

Everyone was such a huge help! Including the boys - Bill, Joe and Dave were the muscles of the group, and Jack and Henry were the entertainment!

Then and Now

We have been very busy lately cleaning out my moms house and helping her get ready for her big move to Cincinnati in December! Goodbye childhood home...:(

We have always had a good laugh about the quirky child that I was and some of the things we came across in my memory boxes brought back great memories! This picture (and swim cap) show me at my goofiest and we just couldn't pass up the chance to replicate it! I have seen that same quirkiness in jack and I just can't wait to watch him develop that personality more!!

The house has been redone a bit over the years, but jack is sitting in the same spot I was some 25 years ago! 

Halloween!!

My family has a tradition that every year we all meet up at the Rickes house for a trick or treating/Halloween party! It is such a nice holiday to spend with family! Every year we take a big group shot of everyone all dressed up..this year that didn't happen, but still a wonderful evening!

Joe was out of town and was so sad to miss Halloween with jack, but my mom and I took him around and he loved it!! Really he liked the houses that had dogs way more then the collection of candy!

Such a fun night! Oh and earlier that day jack and I attended a Halloween party his babysitter put on for the kids!!

The 4 boys get along so well!
