4th of July

As we are already nearing the end of July I am reminiscing on the wonderful holiday we had and realizing I am a bit behind on blogging..

The 4th of July this year was a very hot day in the middle of the week! Such a treat to have the whole family home on a Wednesday and we celebrated by going to the Meyers house for a pool party! Before heading to the Meyers we also visited in the morning at the Wasserman’s and early afternoon at Oma and Opa’s! The kids enjoyed all the festivities!

The kids all got along so well and Elisabeth and Stefanies nephew Nicholas became the best of friends!

We swam, rode the gocart, ate a delicious meal, and enjoyed Mr. Meyers firework show!

Elisabeth’s Birthday and A Special Visitor!

This year we headed to the pool the Saturday after Elisabeth’s third birthday to celebrate her with my side of the family! The Meyers, omi and Opa and Tante Amy all came to celebrate Elisabeth! On the Monday before the party Elisabeth was FaceTiming with Tante Amy and asked “Tante Amy will you come to my birthday party this weekend?” If Elisabeth could only know how convincing her sweet little voice was..that amazing Tante Amy bought a flight the next morning to make sure she attended that birthday party!! 

The entire weekend of amy being here was a blast! So much great family time! Hyde park blast was run in the morning (joe and I killed it and had so much fun doing a race together without kids!) followed by Elisabeth’s birthday party, then the sisters took a trip to Trader Joe’s together (ha - Wetterau version of going shopping..), followed by a grill out at my Mom and Bills house, followed by the Hyde park blast bike races! We had a great day! So much activity and time together! If that wasn’t enough we then had a sister sleepover at my moms house Saturday night, woke up and the girls went to church together then we all walked to a park together where my mom lead us in a yoga class and finally we wrapped up an awesome weekend with a grill out at our house! We are sooo grateful for Tante Amy! The kids just adore her and we can’t thank her enough for making the big trip to see us and attend a very special little three year olds birthday party!! 

Six Months!

Josefine is 6 months old! She is growing so fast and amazing us each day with her development! 

So proud of herself!

She started sitting up and joe and I were laughing because one day we put her down and she sat up and it shocked us so much - such a 3rd child! 

She smiles all the time! She’s very social and hates to miss anything! Forget nursing her if her brother and sister are playing in the same room! 

She has been munching on some apples

And tasting a little avocado and chicken broth and banana. She loves food so far but I find myself delaying it as much as possible because I’ve got many years ahead of food prep for another kid 😉 -  plus the girl loves to nurse!

She babbles some but otherwise just keeps this big smile on her face and is pretty quiet. She lights up when we give her any attention and she could sit and watch jack and Elisabeth for hours!

Jack and Elisabeth still fight for their time with her and beg to babysitter her “while you get stuff done Mama.” They truly do a great job looking out for her! Jack takes his job of watching her around the house very serious and reads to her, plays with her, and lays with her after she wakes up. They are both so gentle and calm with Josefine! Jack is auch a natural when he holds her and she will just sit in his lap for a long time - so comfortable with him! I love watching them develop a relationship with each other.

She has cheeks for days and is just such a snuggler! Whenever I pick her up she buries her soft little face in my neck and it feels like she’s hugging me - I hope I never forget that!

She has been loving the pool this summer and now that she can sit up she just wants to be right in all the action! We love you sweet Josefine Rose. You are just so adorable and special to us!!
