Lake House Getaway

Life lately has been much the same. The pandemic continues, stay at home orders just lifted a few days ago at the end of May but staying home is still very much encouraged. Restaurants and stores have started to open but under strict rules and orders and at low capacity. Some people are flying back into life and some are continuing to slowly reintegrate. There seems to be no right or wrong way and more than ever I am having to trust my gut and go with what Joe and I feel comfortable for our own family. We have started to see parents and siblings at the end of May. For now that feels right and strange all at the same time. Masks are recommended most places and required in a few places. We have done masked visits with family and unmasked visits as well. Again, it’s all a bit of trial and error and a risk no matter how you look at it. Our bubble has opened a little and for now that feels good and appropriate. Unfortunately a rule book doesn’t exist for a pandemic and with that I say I must just move forward slowly and trust my gut. So many lives have been lost to this nasty virus which is just devastating. What a strange year this has been so far.

The kids have been total troopers and have adjusted as well as I could ask of them! We can all learn so much from the little ones right now!

We decided to get out of town for an overnight at the lake house last weekend. Our beach trip to Florida was cancelled in May so we are just trying to make the best of this all! The lake overnight was absolutely perfect!!

Such awesome family time! I hope I never forget these quiet, low key family getaways. The kids are just so fun to be around at their ages right now!
