Happy Thanksgiving!

have always started out Thanksgiving morning with a race - this year Jack and Joe got to join! We did the Cincinnati Thanksgiving race downtown - a 10K! It felt so great! Joe pushed Jack in the stroller and I raced it (so thankful for Joe pushing the stroller) A few months after baby and I still managed a 7:25 pace! Our family has so much to be thankful for this year! Our beautiful baby and another little nephew on the way any day now! We will head to Aunt Lisa's this afternoon for a delicious feast!

Here we go!!

So cozy in his cold weather gear! He was such a trooper!

All tuckered out in our warm cozy home after a great morning!!! So blessed and thankful for my family today!!

Coffee Emporium Date with Friends!

I am so lucky to have a few girlfriends who have recently had babies! It gives me a chance to get out and be with other Moms and share baby stories/advice. One of our friends is even our neighbor and they also have a baby Jack who is one month older then our Jack (we call them "old Jack" and "new Jack").

The Many Faces of Jack March

Jack always makes so many funny faces and gives us such silly looks and crazy eyes! He really makes us laugh! These were all within a few seconds of each other - just had to keep snapping photos! Missed the one of him laughing though..

Jack's First Xavier Basketball Game!!

This is Jack's first of many Xavier basketball games since we are season ticket holders and are obsessed with XU bball!! We can only hope our kids grow up to be Xavier fans!

He of course slept through the entire game!  That kid loves to sleep in noise.

Thanks to our friend Jeff for his adorable Xavier hat!

Just One Baby!

I know I will look back one day on that time in my life when I had just one baby! A time I will never forget and a time I will always cherish! These last 2 months have been so special. I love that I can take Jack wherever I want, and I really love getting outside to enjoy the beautiful weather! Jack has been such a good baby and is a trooper when I take him out! We do everything together - we go for lots of runs and walks, we visit friends, we grocery shop, we meet Joe for lunch, we walk with my Mom during her lunch breaks, we visit Oma and Opa, we go to coffee shops, we hang out at home, we do lots of cooking and baking, we go to the dog park, we go to bookstores, we go to the park, we visit my Mom in Dayton, we hang out with Aunt Stefanie after she gets off work, we go to breweries with Joe after he gets off work, and we just really make the most of our days together!   Although we will hopefully get to welcome more kids into our family one day, I will say that for now I just couldn't be happier to be the mother of just one baby! Jack has slowed my life down and I love it! Jack allows me to stop and soak up the beauty around me! Jack has taught me patience  and flexibility. Jack has taught me to be more comfortable with silence and that if an hour has gone by and all I've done is stared at him the entire hour that's ok! Jack has taught me how to make sacrifices. Jack has helped me to be a better wife.  Jack has helped me to love my parents even more then I ever have for the sacrifices I now know they have made for me.  Jack is truly a blessing in my life!

A few snapshots from our special days together showing Jack all my favorite spots in the city!

This is the face that looks up at me the whole time I run - I never thought I could love running more then I already do!

Two months!

Our baby is 2 months old today! He is getting so big! He is changing so much and starting to get such a cute personality! He smiles when we talk to him; he is starting to make so many cute noises; and he is starting to focus on things with his eyes! He has also been a great sleeper (in fact, as I write this he is just waking up from a 12 hour night!) Joe and I are enjoying that while it lasts!

Jack and I are continuing to have great days together taking lots of runs and walks while the weather is still so nice! Making soups, roasting chickens, and visiting friends and family! I am thankful for everyday that I get to spend with my baby! I started back to work yesterday afternoon. I am only working part time and I am able to put all my hours into 2 days. I work afternoons into the evening so that Joe can be home with him for part of the time I am away - below is a picture of Daddy and Jacks first evening together - looks like they had a blast!
