Spring Break - Our New Mexico Adventure!

Where do I even begin on describing the amazing adventure we had for spring break this year!  We packed up the car and headed west to Albuquerque.  The drive was awesome, the sites we saw along the way were so memorable, our time with the Zhupikovs in ABQ was the best, and our stop in St. Louis on the way home was wonderful! I cannot believe the road warriors we have - we stopped once every 5 hours for gas and a quick bathroom break and continued on our way!

We made it to Shamrock, TX for our first night.  It took us 15 hours to get there.  This was definitely a small truck stop on the side of I-40 - memorable to say the least!

We left early the next morning to make the final 5 hour trek to ABQ.  We made the last 5 hours very scenic - we stopped at Palo Dura Canyon (second largest canyon to the Grand Canyon.)  We spent time hiking the canyon and even found the beautiful horse farm overlooking the sunrise and the canyon.

Our next stop was right outside Amarillo, TX at Cadillac Ranch.  We hiked out to the Cadillacs and got to spray paint our names on the cars - so cool!

WELCOME TO NEW MEXICO!!

Our final stop before getting to Albuquerque was at the blue hole.  This is a natural water hole that is 80 some feet deep and 61 degrees all year long.  It is often used for scuba diving practice and anyone can jump in.  It was cold out that morning but Jack and Joe braved the cold and jumped in - a cool site to see!

LOOK AT AMY'S incredible hospitality!!! gosh her welcome baskets are so sweet!

This is inside the elevator at the science museum!!

so many great hikes and family time!! the kids just loved loving on Amelia!

We went to the science museum, the zoo, the botanical gardens, the aquarium, a cool brewery and shopping spot at an old Motel, hikes and more hikes!

Then we headed to St. Louis for 48 hours of adventure - we saw it all! Joe and I ran all around each morning to site see through Washington Park, we went to the science museum, we went to the city museum (the most amazing/unique museum i've ever been to), we walked around Washington park, we went to the Gateway Arch and park, we went to the cathedral, We went to 2 cool breweries to watch some march madness, and we visited the Delmar loop and had root beer floats.  We fell in love with the city - definitely will go back!
