Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving looked a bit different this year but no less special! We created some very memorable experiences and had such a great and relaxing long weekend! Some of the Ricke clan over the years has participated in the downtown Turkey Trot which was cancelled this year. To still all get our 10k in that morning we created a Ricke Trot route around Mt. Airy starting and stopping at Oma and Opas house. It was so fun and such a great way to still get a little distanced family time that morning!! We ironed on the logo for the shirts and our family all over the world wore their shirts and walked or jogged together! It was very special.

Oma and Opa watched from the house and waved and cheered as the course also went by their house about halfway. My oma wanted to know what people eat after races and had a table on her porch with goodies for the participants 💕

The rest of the day we just spent being cozy at home, playing and decorating the table. My mom made the turkey and sides and we contributed additional sides. Before dinner stef and I showed up to my moms house and we divided up all the food amongst the 3 families and went to our separate houses to eat! We joined them and the zhupikov’s on zoom for a prayer and part of the meal!!

We took another nice walk in the afternoon as a family! After the kids went to bed joe and I joined my family on zoom again to watch a few of the Frienda thanksgiving episodes and laughed and laughed!! As I’m typing this I’m remembering how truly wonderful and creative the day was!
