Christmas 2020!!

Christmas happened in phases this year due to the pandemic and spreading out our exposure and family time. The first event was at mom and bills house for Wetterau Christmas. It was so great! We stayed for 9 hours and didn’t feel ready to leave at the end! Amy and Z joined via zoom! It was such a relaxing joyful day! Mom made a delicious brunch followed by endless coffee tea and wine, cookies, present opening and giving and soup served in the afternoon. Couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas celebration with our Family. The cousins played non stop and I coordinated the cousins with costumes and lines to perform the Nativity Play for the adults

My mom and bill were so creative with gifts. One big gift my mom gave that was very meaningful and memorable was that she spent all of 2020 sorting and organizing thousands and thousands of printed pictures from our childhood, getting rid of the bad ones, the doubles and the unwanted photos and replacing them in leather albums in order of our childhood for each of us 3 girls. So I came home with brown leather albums in order from birth to college! She also made us a hardback book of all the pictures of our matching outfits she sewed, sewed us matching pj pants for this year and gifted all the grand babies matching jammies! It was soo special!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we spent with the 6 of us like we normally do. It was just perfect! It was relaxing, silly, faithful, memorable and so so fun! We went to a beautiful mass on Christmas Eve and we sat in the front and the kids were Angels! We came home for a fire, dinner, sibling gifts, Christmas stories and games!

Christmas morning Jack and E woke up very early but we hung out and read Christmas stories until I told them we could wake dad, josefine and Charlotte at 7. They were so patient and excited!

We enjoyed gift opening, brunch and playtime all day! Take me back to that relaxing time! It was wonderful

Saturday after Christmas joes parents came with Charlie! It was another wonderful Christmas celebration! We ate appetizers and cookies, opened gifts, played cards, made a nice dinner and brunch, took a walk and spent so much time playing together with the kids! All our family just gave the kindest and most perfect gifts for each kid! So thoughtful and the kids were shocked by all their exciting new things! My parents and Joes parents know our kids so well and do a great job getting each kid something they will really enjoy. We also got to celebrate Josefine again for her birthday with Grandma and Grandpa. She got her special box that they make for each kid for their 3rd birthday. It’s a wooden box painted, decorated with cute handles and with their initials and filled with lots of goodies for that kid - so special

Christmas 2020 - you outdid yourself!! You brought so much joy and excitement to a unique year. You made life feel normal and for that we felt so grateful. You allowed us time with family and time by ourselves enjoying our growing family at home. You created memories that we will cherish for years 🎄💕 always hard for me to say goodbye to the Christmas season - Experiencing it through the eyes of little kids is just so amazing
